The women of New Journey Lutheran Church have gathered twice to discern and discuss the possibility of beginning a women’s ministry. In our most recent, July 17 gathering, those who gathered shared their ideas and hopes for what this ministry might focus on. After prayer and conversation, the group settled on small groups of women committed to reaching out into the Fountain Hills community as the focus of this group with periodic large group gatherings to pray, laugh, grow our spiritual relationships and share what we are learning in our outreach adventures. They crafted a purpose statement to guide and direct our shared work:

The Spirit of God is moving among this group of women for the sake of the kingdom of God—hallelujah! We meet next Monday, August 21 at 3:00 pm at Dorothy Schmidt’s home to continue planning, plotting, and laughing. All women in the congregation are invited to join!
