The Northeast Valley Consortium churches (Ascension, Christ the Lord, Living Water, New Covenant, New Journey) will, for the second consecutive year, collaborate to create a project with strong impact.
For 2023, the 10th year of the ELCA’s G.W.O.H. Sunday, each congregation will be creating “celebration bags” for one of Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest’s programs (Aging and Disability Services, Child and Family Services [including foster children], Emergency Services [including I-HELP], and Refugee and Immigration Services [including reception and welcome].
During worship on September 10, New Journey will pack 30 “You are welcome here!” celebration bags for incoming refugees. No purchases are necessary; all supplies will be provided for this G.W.O.H. event!
