14th Annual Fountain Hills’ Interfaith Thanksgiving
Fountain Hills – Join your neighbors from the rich variety of Fountain Hills faith traditions as we gather for our 14th Annual Fountain Hills Interfaith Thanksgiving celebration on Sunday, November 22nd at 2pm. This year’s celebration will be at The Fountains, a United Methodist Church, 15300 N. Fountain Hills Blvd.
Our fourteenth year, this Fountain Hills tradition is even more relevant today as a witness opposing the recent rise of anti-Semitism and Christian Nationalism. Sponsored by the Fountain Hills’ Interfaith Alliance, a coalition of local faith communities and leaders committed to embracing diversity and pluralism, this annual observance is an intentional interaction with our neighbors of other faith traditions as a positive witness to a world in conflict.
Those joining together in the celebration include Jews, Muslims, Catholics, Protestants, Latter Day Saints, Buddhists, Baha’i, Religious Science, and practitioners of other faiths living in and around Fountain Hills. The service will include inspiring music, a time for conversation, and an opportunity to reflect on the importance of respecting those of different faiths and life circumstances.
Our special guest speaker, Rabbi Debbie Stiel, Associate Rabbi at Temple Solel in Paradise Valley will be sharing practical ways that non-Jews can be allies of our Jewish neighbors. Also, Syrian refugee baker Noor Al Mousa (whose baklava recipe was featured in Sunset magazine) will be on hand to sell pre-packaged sweets and also take orders for later delivery.
Thanksgiving is a unique opportunity for all Americans, regardless of religious or faith background, to come together with thanks, acknowledging our many gifts and the richness of America’s religious diversity. Don’t miss out on what those who have attended in past years have called, “an amazing experience!”
