Join us for Ash Wednesday worship on Wednesday, February 22 at 5:00 pm.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent, our 40-day journey toward Holy Week. On Ash Wednesday, we receive an ashen cross upon our foreheads. A symbol of our mortality and an external mark of penitence. On this day, we reflect on the fragility of our human lives and marvel that we are claimed by God in the waters of baptism. For while we receive ash upon our foreheads, we receive ashes in the form of a cross--the same symbol we received on the day we were claimed by God in baptism.
