You are Welcome - Response to Letter to the Editor

We are writing in response to the letter to the editor, published in the June 21 issue, which expressed sadness and disappointment regarding expressed prejudice against transgender persons in the Fountain Hills community.

We want you to know that there are neighbors in Fountain Hills who welcome and affirm all persons, including transgender persons and others of varied gender expressions. Specifically, we are members of New Journey Lutheran Church, a Reconciling in Christ congregation.

The purpose of this letter is not to proselytize, but only to say, “You are welcome and affirmed here!” We are not the only congregation in Fountain Hills who welcomes LGBTQIA+ persons. Our friends at The Fountains United Methodist Church practice openness and affirmation of the LGBTGIA+ community. Please know you are welcome to reach out for support.
