President’s Perspective
On behalf of the Congregation Council, we want to sincerely thank you for having great faith and trust in us to do God’s work for New Journey. Your affirmative “yes” vote in January to the 2024 Mission Spending Plan was graciously received and welcomed.
We value that trust and work everyday to continue to earn it by looking ahead at challenges, adapting to meeting our needs and listening to what God is calling us to do.
Currently we have two new Council members who are getting to know how Council works and to develop trust with each of us as we discuss, deliberate and make recommendations. When trust is built with one another, honesty and openness is found which delights our God.
After celebrating 10 years of ministry together, new challenges and opportunities lie ahead. We recognize the need to document and create policies for the variety of needs that arise such as our Financial Procedure Guide and a Gift Policy that is in the works.
In our effort to demonstrate and continue to earn your trust, our Congregation Council Minutes are posted on our website after Council approves them the following month at our regularly scheduled Council meetings.
An open invitation exists for any church member to attend our Congregation Council Meeting. If you wish to speak on a specific topic or concern, we ask that you contact me ahead of time. Your name will be placed on our Agenda with time to speak and to allow the Council members to ask any questions that arise after listening to you.
In order to continue to build trust and keep the lines of communication open with our Ministry teams, we are inviting them to a Council meeting as well. With that open dialogue, we want to have them share ministry highlights and hopes for the next 6-12 months and make requests of the council (fundraising, special projects etc.).
Trust is continually being earned by the actions we take as the Congregational Council. With your continued prayers, support, and faith in us we pray and hope we demonstrate that to each of you every day.
With blessings to you all,
Cindi Brady
Congregation Council President
