NJLC Summer Heat Respite Lunch Pack

Be ready! Your NJLC lunch pack team is preparing for the June 17, 9:00 a.m., launch of the 2024 heat respite season. We will be joined by 4-5 observer-guests from Ascension, Christ the Lord, Living Water, and New Covenant so they are prepared for their lunch packs in the coming weeks. All New Journeyans are welcome!!

Due to staffing changes at Grace, they need 1-2 volunteers, from 11 am to noon, to distribute lunches. If you would like to distribute lunches from New Journey at Grace on 6/17 or 7/1 (or, independently, on a Thursday or Saturday), please let Kris or Pastor Beth know of your interest!

We will do our second lunch pack on Monday, July 1. Following that:

• Christ the Lord will prepare 6/24 and 8/12 lunches 

• New Covenant will prepare 7/15 and 7/29 lunches 

• Ascension will prepare 7/22, 8/5, and 8/19 lunches 

• Living Water will prepare 7/8 and 8/26 lunches 

• New Journey will finish up with 9/8 (God's Work. Our Hands. Sunday) and 9/16 lunches.

Each congregation will arrange for delivery of a pallet of water and accompanying electrolyte powder to be delivered to Grace over the summer (New Journey's water has already been delivered early, at Grace's request).

This Northeast Valley Consortium project to support heat respite at Grace Lutheran for summer 2024 is funded by a grant to the consortium from Ascension Lutheran Church.
