Celebrating Our Phoenix Connectors

The Phoenix Connectors of the Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest are a network of dedicated volunteer leaders across Phoenix and Southern Arizona. Their unwavering commitment to service is vital in linking congregations with the mission to uplift and support those in need.

We are especially proud to highlight that our very own Kris Bartanen is one of the LSS-SW Phoenix Connectors!

A Network of Dedication and Service

The Phoenix Connectors are more than just volunteers; they are the heartbeat of the Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest. These incredible individuals dedicate their time, energy, and passion to ensure that services reach those who need them most. By fostering strong connections between congregations and the organization, they help create a supportive community that uplifts everyone involved.

The Role of the Connectors

Connectors are active in four primary areas:

  1. Service: Ambassadors work with Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest service staff in their region to define and coordinate opportunities for volunteer service.

  2. Communication: Ambassadors provide ongoing information within their congregations regarding access to services, service updates, legislative and budgetary updates affecting Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest programs, and the need for financial support.

  3. Fundraising: Ambassadors may develop fundraising events in the congregation and the community to support Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest programs. They engage the congregation in specific opportunities for giving and may lead efforts to launch long-term sponsorships or host events to raise awareness.

  4. Advocacy: Ambassadors work within the congregation and join with other faith communities to influence public will in legislation and public funding.
