So, today please indulge me as I write a little bit about stewardship.

To me, stewardship is: How do we utilize the gifts and talents that God has given us to do his bidding? His bidding being to “love thy neighbor as thyself”.

Well, New Journey has a very rich history of doing just that. Programs like heat respite, support for the East Mesa schools, food bank drives, the tree of giving at Christmas time, support for Native American Connections, support for Native American Urban Ministry, make a difference day, and Food 4 Kidz are just examples that come to mind. Just some of the ways in which New Journey does “Gods work with our hands”. It is truly amazing what can be accomplished when we all pull together!

Many of us have contributed significantly since our church was formed. As I think about it I see those contributions in primarily three forms. They are 1) financial support, 2) active participation, and 3) encouragement and prayers. All three of those things are needed for us to continue to do God’s work with our hands (and hearts and minds).

All of us can contribute to keeping this rich history moving forward. How? Financial support, active participation, encouragement and prayers. God’s work via the gifts he has given us.

Thank you for sharing your Treasures!
