Christian Education

Join New Journey Lutheran friends on Wednesday’s at 5:00 pm as we explore the biblical language of lament.

Why are we exploring this topic?

In large part, because lament is powerful language for addressing God in times of grief, sorrow, loss, confusion, persecution, and uncertainty.

The Christian Education team decided on this topic because it sits along nicely with our Lenten theme: “Wandering Heart”, and because our community has been asking big questions about God’s presence in the world. Given the recent, distressing events in our world (war in Ukraine, massive migration, climate crisis, war in Israel & Gaza) and in our personal lives (illness, grief, death, struggle in relationships), we wanted to offer a study that responds to some of our deep God and faith questions.

How does the Bible speak to our big questions?

How did our ancestors in faith deal with the problems of their day?

Where is God in the midst of hardship and struggle?

Join us as we continue to explore the language of lament, and hopefully, discover that the language of lament supports us in this journey of faith.
