2025 Stewardship Appeal

Dear New Journey Friends and Family,

We rejoice in the promises of God revealed by the prophet Isaiah:

“The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters never fail.”

Through the past 10+ years, God has guided us and made us strong. Did we ever imagine where the journey would lead us? Perhaps we began the journey just like the Israelites leaving Egypt: worried about what we left behind, anxious about God’s provision, and unsure if we would survive the journey. Over the past decade and in this last year, God has been faithful, teaching us to trust in God’s provision. In 2024, we responded to God’s promised provision, embodying beloved community, generosity, and creativity in these ways:

  • “Celebrated” 10 years of organized ministry as an ELCA congregation, and “dreamed” of the years to come at our 10-Year Anniversary Celebration in February.

  • Successfully gathered 150 neighbors and friends to pack and distribute 65,000 meals in partnership with Food for Kidz in February.

  • Expanded our summer Heat Respite lunch pack across the five Northeast Valley Consortium (NEVC) congregations effectively turning our typical 600 lunches into 2,600 lunches, pallets of water, and electrolyte powder for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

We trust God is satisfying our needs and making us strong through your financial gifts. We ask that you prayerfully, intentionally, and faithfully dig in and respond to the overwhelming abundance of God in your life so that we can live into the mission God has given us and “be like a watered garden…whose waters never fail.”

  • Read the 2025 Draft Mission Case Statement that outlines the mission priorities and goals for 2025. Click the button below to read the Mission Case Statement or find it published under the “Give” page of our website: njlc-fh.org and in our October 18 eNewsletter.

  • If you are currently giving, thank you, and prayerfully consider increasing the amount by 5%

  • Complete a financial commitment card on our secure website or return it in worship or by mail on or before November 3. Click the button below to access the online commitment card. Hard copies will be distributed in worship beginning October 13.

A gift to NewJourney Lutheran Church is a testament to your trust in Jesus, the Son of God, who is continually guiding us into God’s vision for a more just, loving, and trustworthy world.

In Christian love and faithfulness,

The Stewardship Team – Julie Palko, Denny Rubenow, Marylou Steeden and Pastor Beth Gallen
