The Fall, 2019 adult study Welcoming the Stranger was so well received that is being offered again (in condensed form) during January, 2020, for those members and friends who were unable to participate in the Fall. On Wednesday, January 8 at 10 a.m., we will look at what Scripture has to say about welcoming the stranger. On Wednesday, January 15, we will examine the ELCA’s social statement on immigration. And then, on Wednesday, January 22, Charlotte Schurtz, coordinator of refugee Faith and Community Engagement for Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest (LSS-SW) will inform us on what LSS is doing to assist refugees to settle in the Valley. At the end of this series, New Journey will discuss how to respond to strangers in our midst.
